Here’s a short little video I made while visiting the highest elevation point in Iowa – Hawkeye Point! 1,670 feet. Not quite a mountain, but if you can bundle 12 Hawkeye Points together you would be getting somewhere! Quick little stop, but a point of interest. Enjoy!

If you are from the area or traveling through Iowa on Hwy 60 headed south or north by Hwy 9 Exit, you can have a little sightseeing trip as part of an outside-social distancing activity. For the most part there isn’t a lot of people out there, but just in case be safe!

While you’re at it take a trip over to Sibley, IA and check out there downtown! They have some neat shops, places to eat and to grab a fresh bakery good and coffee!

How to get there!

  1. Our family loves quirky little stops like this! If we were passing by on a road trip and this wasn’t too far off route for us, we would definitely stop here. Funny that it is the highest elevation point for the state! Such claims to fame usually involve visiting a mountain top with dramatic views. The fact that this point does not have such mountain views makes it even more interesting!
